For foreign business, Thailand has been and remains a very attractive country in which to invest. Thailand now seeks to become the country of choice in Asia for foreign investors through the Government’s ‘Thailand Investment Year 2008/9’ campaign but faces increased competition from neighboring countries for inward investment.

The British Chamber of Commerce Thailand fully supports this policy and has launched its own programme; ‘Thailand Means Business 2008’ as a complementary initiative primarily directed at attracting new or re-investment from British business interests. BCCT already has confirmed events, promoting Thailand to British business, in London (twice), Manchester, Liverpool, Newport (South Wales), Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket.

In order to achieve major increases in foreign investment, from both potential and current investors, BCCT would like to offer its suggestions to the Royal Thai Government in this paper entitled ‘Thailand Means Business 2008 - Increasing Foreign Investment in Thailand’.
